6 Lessons From Year 1 Of Business No.3

Today is The Women Entrepreneurs Group 1 Year Anniversary đŸŽˆ

It’s been an incredibly enriching experience creating this space for you. A beautiful, connecting and heartfelt journey so far. And one I'm so proud to be on.

This is the third business I've created, so I wanted to spend some time reflecting on what I've learned on this wild journey. As a way to mark the occasion and to give space to such an important time without always being in the "what's next" zone.

These are the 6 KEY LESSONS I've learned:

I hope they make you feel like you're not alone, weird or behind.... but that you're capable, inspiring and awesome! đŸ’Ē

ONE. There will be many times when you'll feel confused about what you’re doing. Going through this phase is essential because you’re figuring out what the business is, who it's for, the right messaging, and what’s the best way of communicating with your audience. This confusion will pass so hang in there.

TWO. It will feel both impossible and extremely exciting. Sometimes at the same time. Year One is your creation mode with all the possibilities, all the energy, and lots of effort. It can be overwhelmingly energetic and energising and feel like an impossible task all at the same time.

THREE. You will doubt yourself. You'll feel confident some days but scared on others. You'll feel extremely capable and focused and then in the same week, you might feel shy and embarrassed at what you’re doing and how visible you’re being. This is normal. Ride the wave.

FOUR. When things start gaining momentum, there is no better feeling. Remember to celebrate these wins.

FIVE. You may find yourself consumed with comparison at times. This is normal, however don’t let yourself get buried in this. When you notice yourself doing it remember that there's no good that comes from comparing yourself to others. Re-focus on what you’re doing and your purpose and who you are. It's all that matters.

SIX. Getting your foundations right is absolutely essential. However, you may not discover what these truly are until you're six months down the line. So while it’s important to refine these, also be flexible and prepared to let go of initial ideas if they’re not working. This could be really difficult particularly if it’s a personal brand. Use your intuition to guide you.

It's not easy but my mindfulness practices have helped me stay focused, balanced and bouncing back after knock backs. I'm not sure how I'd cope without them to be honest. Here are the daily tools I use if you'd like to try them yourself.

âœđŸģ How do you mark your key milestones?

We were talking about this in the Roundtable in Valencia yesterday. We're so quick to move from one thing to another that sometimes it doesn't even occur to us how to do this.

I invite you to take a moment to consider how you'll celebrate a recent milestone of your journey.

Right... time for some seriously funky music at full volume to celebrate mine đŸĒŠ
